Should I Be Gaining Weight At 14 Weeks Pregnant?

If you’re starting pregnancy at a healthy weight, expect to gain 1 to 5 pounds in the first trimester and about 1 pound per week for the rest of your pregnancy. Keep in mind that eating for two doesn’t mean eating twice as much as you usually do – you don’t even need any extra calories in your first trimester.

When do you start putting on weight in pregnancy?

Most pregnant women gain between 10kg and 12.5kg (22lb to 26lb), putting on most of the weight after week 20. Much of the extra weight is due to your baby growing, but your body will also be storing fat, ready to make breast milk after your baby is born.
